Chelsea Time!

It's May, it's Chelsea and I barely made it out of the floral marque all day. The display above was probably my favourite planting combination - from the fabulous Proctors Nursery in Staffordshire. The following caught my eye (and will be on the shopping list!) ... For foliage: Persicaria 'Purple Fantasy', Polystichum neolobatum, Arachniodes anistata 'Variegata', Seslaria nitida, Euphorbia 'Minors Merlot', Acer triflorium. For flowers: Rosa 'Mary Delany' (is there a more gorgeous climber?), Geranium himalayense 'Derrick Cook', Salvia 'Azure Snow', Lupinus 'Shirley Anne', Pimpernella major 'Rosea', Trollius x cultorum 'Full Moon', Penstemon digitalis 'Dakota Burgundy', Verbascum 'Southern Charm', Achillea millefollium 'Pretty Belinda', Craspedia globosa 'Golf Ball', Amsonia illustris, Lysimachia atropurpurea 'Beaujolais' and the simply gorgeous Calycanthus 'Venus'. And what did I come home with? The tiny common quaking grass Briza media - I think I spotted it all over the show gardens so it had to be that!
